How do we make them leave us alone?
by hot mama ini have not been to a meeting since memorial, yet they still keep pestering me to come back.
i'm a mild mannered person, so it's hard for me to tell them off but i'm at the point of becoming a real bitch.
so, any ideas on what to say without seeming like a real bitch?

All the calls and emails I've gotten have been over the past week only. Until then it was just my mom amd sister bothering me. They might be the ones that got the phone calls started. I'll need to find out. That might be my way to get this stopped. Go straight to the source. Anyway, whether you all can give me any ideas or not, thanks for reading my post and letting me vent.

Man's freedom of choice,, is it really free?
by hot mama ini started wondering what others thought about this topic.
if armegeddon did come and if there are people who survive and grow to perfection, how can we be sure that everyone would continue to be obedient?
mankind is given the ability to choose how he will act , so what i'm asking is this i guess,, if it did'nt work with adam and eve, then how could it possibly work in the supposedly new system?will we still have freedom of choice?

Gregor, thanks for the reply. I was'nt sure anyone would understand what I was talking about. It does sound ludicrus that everyone could forever live in total harmony. There will alway be differing oppinions ,we are not robots. What I always believed my whole life seems so stupid now!

I hate the disfellowshipping, I hate the fact that you are only "in" good standing if you are working yourself to death in service, I don't like the fact that higher education is frowned upon, actually there is nothing about it that I do like, so there's really no point in going on about it.

for "born-ins"
by Mandette indoes anyone remember being a little kid and being forced to sit through those 2 hour meetings?
specifically being made to listen to graphic accounts of whatever country that was going through horrific persecution.
(or any other horrors you might remember).

I was raised in "the truth" and scared to death at all the letters read at the meetings about the persecution in places like Malawi. I don't think children need to be subjected to that type of thing at a suposedly religous meeting. Any way my son told me not long ago that he grew up afraid all the time and I feel so bad for putting my kids through that. But we are out now thank god.

I can't believe that so many of you are stating the very feelings I have had for years about the conventions. They were so boring!!! I always dreaded them to the point of pretending to be sick to get out of going. It was sheer torture for the kids to have to sit still all day long. I think that is boardering on child abuse. I really can't think of anything I did enjoy except for the final prayer on Sunday and I could go home!Thank goodness I don't have to do that ever again.
